💡 Pro Tips

  • Preheat your oven to 356°F (180°C) for at least 15 minutes before baking to ensure even heat distribution, as bars need consistent temperature to set properly without overbaking edges.timing356°F, 15 minutes preheat
  • Press the mixture firmly with a flat-bottomed measuring cup instead of a spoon back to achieve uniform 1/2-inch thickness, ensuring even cooking and clean slicing.technique1/2-inch thickness
  • Freeze bars for exactly 2 hours at 0°F to firm the structure for clean cuts - longer freezing creates ice crystals that damage texture upon thawing.timing2 hours at 0°F
  • Line your pan with parchment paper leaving 2-inch overhangs on opposite sides to create handles for easy removal without breaking the bars.technique2-inch overhang
  • Use a sharp chef's knife dipped in warm water between cuts to slice frozen bars cleanly - cold blades drag and create ragged edges.equipment
